Greg Majors

Beverage Director

Greg Majors draws from his extensive wine knowledge and restaurant experience as the beverage director at Craft. When describing Majors in his recent, three-star review in The New York Times, Sam Sifton said, “He is well worth flagging down for advice, and excitement.”

A Bay Area native, Majors got his introduction to the restaurant industry while working his way through college at the University of California in San Diego. When Majors moved to New York City in 2005 he took a job at CRU, a Manhattan restaurant famed for its wine program, splitting his time between the kitchen and the dining room.

Majors transitioned fully into front of the house operations in 2007, when he opened Insieme with partners Paul Grieco and Marco Canora. While at Insieme Majors’ ‘knack’ for wine came naturally, and he slowly evolved into the role of beverage director. His time in the kitchen had helped to develop his palate; working with wine industry heavyweight Paul Grieco, reading, tasting, and ultimately teaching about wine have turned him from an eager novice into a seasoned professional.

In 2009 Majors returned to CRU, this time as Wine Director. It was in this position that he gained unique exposure to some of the greatest wines and wine makers in the world. Majors became the beverage director at the flagship Craft in 2010.

Majors currently lives in the Murray Hill neighborhood of New York. In his free time he enjoys music, exercise, travel, and dining around New York City.
