As the child of an avid cook and part-time caterer, Lauren Hirschberg has always been around food. Growing up in Montclair, New Jersey, he paid close attention as his mother prepared meals for family and friends. After expressing interest in learning about cooking, his mother let him help on occasion and it wasn’t long until she gave him free reign with family dinners.

Pastry Chef
At age 14, Abby took her first step in the culinary world as part of the front of house team in Frenchtown, NJ at The Bridge Cafe. There, she met Ken Miller who encouraged her to pursue a career in pastry. By the time Abby graduated from high school, she had worked her way to the line, making desserts and learning the intricacies of the back of house.

Wine Director
John B. Paterson developed a passion for the hospitality industry at an early age, which he brings to his role as Wine Director at Craftbar. As the son of restauranteurs, Paterson gained experience both as a line cook and server working at Nancy Paterson’s Bistro, his parents’ restaurant, during high school.
